EGEAC is responsible for managing some of Lisbon’s key cultural spaces and for organising Festas de Lisboa and other street festivals.
For more than 20 years, this municipal company has been promoting cultural activity in Lisbon through its street festivals and management of cultural spaces, including the São Luiz and Maria Matos Theatres, various museums and art galleries, and monuments such as the Monument to the Discoveries and São Jorge Castle. As a key actor in the city, EGEAC provides programming that is multidisciplinary, comprehensive, inclusive and democratic, striving to be an agent that is active and receptive, interacting in both contemporary and popular activities.
