Mystery collection

Mystery books have long figured in Manguel’s reading. The Mystery collection offers an excellent selection of, in particular, the Golden Age of detective fiction from pre-WW II Britain, lighter than the American movement of “hard-boiled” crime stories. A good number of these books were written in pseudonym by poets, professors, and others who preferred to keep these titles separate from their more serious publications.
